I saw Trick Pony last night @ the AR/OK State Fair. Being a huge fan & having their whole CD memorized, I was pumped to take my 6th row seat! After a few songs they told us to come get a closer look, so I grabbed my camera & ran! I was lucky enough to nab a spot arms length away from center stage, & my idol, Heidi Newfield. I have been in love w/ her since I saw her first video, she's simply AMAZING! Her harmonica playing kicks ass, not to mention her voice just can rock the house one minute w/ Pour Me & make you cry w/ a ballad the next. I spent several songs waving @ her & lip-synching along. Finally, she looked right back @ me & waved! I thought I was going to die! A few songs later she bent down on the end of the stage, playing the guitar. Myself & about 4 other girls held out our hands, just hoping she would give us her guitar pick. She took it, reached over the other girls hands, & placed it in mine!! This was the ONLY one she gave out all night, & she didn't throw it. No, she purposely gave it to ME!! I looked up & she was grinning @ me, we really connected. I spent the rest of the concert on cloud 10! She took my breath away, such an amazing spirit. After the concert we were told they wouldn't be signing autographs, but I wasn't about to just walk away. I went around to where I knew there bus was parked, hoping for the best. There were about 40 people w/ the same idea I had. We waited for about an hour & a 1/2 until Keith finally came out. He signed my CD cover & I got a picture w/ him. He went back in & brought out Heide & Ira, since we had waited so long. I handed Ira my cover & he signed it w/ a goofy grin, he's such a ham. I stood on my toes (I'm only 5'5, LoL) & looked for Heidi. I finally spotted her, God she's tiny! She was in a huge blue tee shirt, jeans & a ponytail, such a cutie! Just as the guard started pulling her back in to leave, I stuck my CD cover out to her. She smiled, took it & said "well, anyone who buys the CD deserves an autograph!" As soon as she handed it back to me I pulled out the guitar pick & said "Well, how about the pick you PERSONALLY handed to me?" She laughed & took it, putting an "H. N. " on the back of it & saying "well of course I'll sign it hun!" I walked away feeling on top of the world, I know we really made a connection. I can't wait to see them again!! I'm really close to Clay Walker as far as his physical condition. My mother had MS and I would like to say that Clay looks like he is doing really good. It's amazing the medicine they have come out with to help MS. My mother past away when I was 15, and I had a really hard time copeing with her death. Once we found out she had MS, she lived for 3 years. Good Luck to Clay & his beautiful family.
