I just have to say that I had a total blast in Vermillion South Dakota last Friday night at Open Mike’s! That was some kind of fun. Great room, great people. Folks came from all over to be there. You know who you are California, Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, and Missouri! That meant the world to me to see everyone there. My long time friend Derek George came along to do the show with me. Derek also did a little singing too. He sang a song that he and I wrote on Wynnona’s latest album as well as her new DVD that is out. I think we actually went way past our time slot. We were up there for a couple of hours but like they say, time flies when you’re havin’ fun! You guys had some serious song requests! That makes me want to go back to the woodshed to relearn these tunes. It may be time to revisit them again. I miss them. Well, some of them (ha!). A great big thanks to Open Mike’s, Mike & Lynn, and Chris for being so friendly and hospitable. Also, thanks for the chicken wings!! To everyone who hung out, I really had a great time visiting with all of you. By far the highlight of the evening, for me, was Derek George (A.K.A. Dave) singing karaoke in the key of “Sweet Home Alabama” with a chicken leg in his left hand. Now that’s a classic! Thanks again. Let’s do that again soon! Go Vermillion!!! -Bryan
